Off to another topic about the music...
Pardon me for being naive, but why would anyone (and hopefully not on this list) spend big bucks for Sutcliffe Jugend's 'We Spit On Their Graves' ten-cassette box on E-Bay?
I remember reading here a while ago that someone won the auction for three figures on that tape set and it wasn't even the real artwork to it, which leads me as to why anyone would go for it when someone can make their own? Hence, caveat emptor.
Makes the vinyl-bootleg version more authentic, no?
Discuss.

collector mentality and nostalgia.
The W.S.O.T.G box set ( complete ) is probably the rarest and most expensive Come Org thing a collector can buy excluding the exagerated Ebay prices for records such as Psychopathia Sexualis & R.T.K.
One could make their own versions and duplicate them, even try & sell them as originals but they aren't ORIGINALS. Bearing in mind tho that the 3 figure sum that buyer paid on the recent Ebay auction only reflects what that individual was prepared to pay for them ( which is , i suppose the definition of an item's value). I can only assume the buyer got reeled in with the sales pitch & wasn't familiar with what the originals actually look like thinking he/she was actually buying an original boxed set.

Anyone could've made and sold those ones that were on ebay. For all we know, the audio on the tapes themselves could've just been downloaded from Soulseek or wherever and what's on there is just from the crappy vinyl bootleg.

I was offered the Merzbox for $550 Australian, but never got around to getting it. I've spent more than that on WH records, and that actually adds up to less quantity wise, but at least I listen to those records at least every week, whereas I can't imagine I would have kept on listening to Merzbox.
As for the SJ box - I'm thinking of getting this if it isn't too expensive, and if there's an emphasis on the PE era.

We Spit on their Graves is actually a brilliant piece of work, and well worth seeking out. For my money, it's one of the only noise-elitist cult objects that actually lived up to the hype. Considering how poorly produced the originals are, a bootleg should suffice - and there's one particularly good version that can be easily obtained. Save your money.

It would be a good starter for new SJ fans, then again, a one-disc release that's less expensive would do. What is the logic of re-releasing most of the original WSOTG boxset material and not the whole thing? I believe it's what I read on their site. As for the Merzbox, 50 CDs and a few tapes for $550.00? I don't think you can go wrong. But with how some people view noise as hit-or-miss, I'd see where it's a gamble.

I have heard that the SJ box will be in the region of 120-150 bux.
Roughly 70 quid.
Not sure exactly what will; be on the DVD maybe the red rose show as that was videoed for Salvation TV.
Was this ever broadcast?

Was this ever broadcast? the live assault 01 from Hinoeuma was broadcast for Redemption TV ( satellite channel) then re-broadcast about 2 weeks later...missed both showings tho' - Kevin Tomkins/Paul Taylor also filmed their very first SJ performance at the Forum, Tunbridge Wells back in 2005....don't know if this is included ( hope so cause this was a great show noise wise)
