I had arrive in the post today the NWW reissue of "Insect and Individual Silenced". For those that don't know, the masters for this LP were long ago detroyed, and Stapleton said he did not want to reissue it on a low quality CD. However, he found out that Kevin Spencer of Robot Records had very carefully assembled a digital master out of the vinyl. Playing the CD, you can tell that the quality is outstanding, not a scratch or pop can be heard, it is really impressive. And most importantly, it contains a lot of 'high frequencies' that a few years ago were difficult to master from vinyl. So here is my thinking-is the technology now not right to put out "Psychopathia Sexualis"? Surely a fan could attempt this, with permission of Susan Lawly? In my dreams this could be coupled with a reissue of "Right To Kill", but I can carry on dreaming in that respect I am sure!

I do agree with you, RTK, especially, deserve a digital reissue, it is such an outstanding album.

I know where you're all coming from, but I do personally love the clandestine nature of those two albums.

I for one would love to have the whole back catalogue available on CD. I have some dosgy MP3s of both LPs, but I never listen to them. If they were on a good quality CD release, I would be able to give them the respect they deserve. To be honest, by the very nature of the content, most Whitehouse releases are pretty clandestine!

If it is a Kurten sleeve + tracklist sticker on front, then band picture on back, it'll be a Heeman Munster.

those Heeman bootlegs have such an awful sound, really terrible, and nothing to compare to the originals LPs. I also appreciate the clandestine nature or the mythic albums that are RTK and PS in the WH discography, but I really would like to hear their sound in digital format with remastered treatment with nowadays technology. I'am pretty sure that even a CD edition of these albums would not depreciate at all the value of the originals LP. Take Maurizio Bianchi's first 10 LPs for example, or the first New Blockaders LP, or the first three (now four) NWW LPs ! I think that was the point with the remastered edition of Insect and individual silenced in CD.

Yes, it would be good to hear the stuff in a clear digital format, but I guess that would only happen with RTK as the master tapes still exist it seems. However, with PS, they don't so I really wonder how much one can get from it. I'm sure the sound depreciates from master tape to vinyl a bit, so one will not get any better than the vinyl, so and digital remastering won't be any better than that. However, maybe I'm missing the point and you're saying that you want the best possible reproduction of a vinyl LP onto a CD?

[you're saying that you want the best possible reproduction of a vinyl LP onto a CD? yes, the masters of "Insect" were destroy or lost too, so the remastered CD is made from a vinyl copy and it seems that nowadays technology can afford an excellent sound reproduction. anyway, this decision is not in our hands.
