Hi all, i´m an somewhat discarded swedish whitehouse fanatic, like so many others i stopped buying the records around Mummy & Daddy, but always held the old stuff in high regard and stayed somewhat in touch. it wasn´t really the new arty direction that put me off, but more a need for other kind of music, for other moods. really enjoy readig Bennets great blog and that got me to buy the vinyl-reissue of Cruise, and yes still love the music, strangely most of all the instrumental tracks...

Hi Magnus! I agree with the pair of you. Wonder if any instrumental mixes of older material will ever be released?

Hi Magnus! Continuing the instrumental discussion - have you heard the so called (live) 'Philosophy Improv', which is the Bird Seed track without vocals. Fucking brilliant.

Hey Magnus, are there many noise music fans over there? Sweden used to be ( could still be ) a hotbed for awesome hardcore punk bands - Mob47, Anti Cimex, Avskum, etc etc etc happy days

hehe, yeah Brainbombs recently split up, a couple of the guys didn´t want to play live (that´s why there´s been now gigs for a decade or so...), but the unstopable brothers Dan & Peter have a new band, hopefully it will be more active and probably sound about the same... the new bandname didn´t stick in my mind though. oh, yes swedish hc/punk was the best, but i´m totally out of touch with that whole scene now, but i´m sure some noisy raw-hc bands are still banging the d-beat. first punk-show for me in 5-6 years was some month ago with re-united Mob 47, they´re older, but sound pretty much the same, great for nostalgia. (they even played the boycott Southafrica tune Racist regime!) by the way my favorite from the 80ies was Dom där. not so much noise-shows, last great one for me was Government Alpha last november, now Pain jerk will play in about a month, so once a year then! lots of experimental "industrial" acts and projects though, but i have no time or real interest in any of those... oh, and Blood of thee christ are back in action again, talk about lethal!

Dom Dar were great...loved their skratter bast.... 12" Mob47 were THE band tho' over here in the UK
I used the love G-Anx as well. I can remember going to see Anti Cimex in Birmingham, UK around 86?? having a 400 mile round trip and the band only played for 10 mins cause all the support bands played too long and they ran out of time.

Great to hear some of the old Swedish bands brought up. Mob47 were fantastic, one of my favourite groups I think! Love Dom Dor too. Here's a couple more for the mix: Discard & Totalitar.

Crudee SS are fantastic!! Another band I'd only heard of a couple of years back via Kristian (I think) of Survival Unit is Missbrukarna. Not sure what they did, but seems like it's just one tape. However, it contain some of the best Swedish HC songs around!
