Could you tell us a little about the new lp? Will it be heavily lyrically based or mainly instrumental? Will the forthcoming shows be based on the new album or featuring pieces such as 'Ruthless Babysitting' etc?

New CE album is entirely instrumental.
New CE vocal tracks have been written, but will not be recorded / released until 'Racket' is finally fully mixed and completed.
The upcoming CE live shows will feature all new sounds/lyrics and absolutely no performances of previously released material.
On a broader point, William and myself have so many new and exciting ideas for future projects that the coming years promise to be very inspirational indeed.
Watch this space ;-)

excellent news, thank you for the update mr. best. it is really wonderful and exciting to see that yourself and mr. bennett are obviously in a very inspired and (hopefully - speaking for myself at least!) prolific time. i really am most intriqued to hear this album of long form instrumental pieces, i get the feeling that it will be a very different beast to "racket" but one that will most probably be very satisfying and remarkable even in contrast. i understand that yourself and mr. bennett are in an extremely forward-looking and sonically evolving approach these days, but i do hope that an official consumer electronics retrospective cd release is still possible. the early works like the title track of "teenage nuremberg" have an intensity and power which throws so much modern "noise" music into comparison. i know of so many "musicians" who are still doing stuff with shortwave that has already been explored 25 years ago, while later tracks such as "korean comfort" have an introspective construction which is really quite lovely and exhibits a diversity completely lacking in the majority of most noise acts. "genesis of a child star" is just hilarious also. anyhow, i really do hope a retrospective cd release will occur, as i said before, i do think it is sorely needed.
