He's recorded several christian rock bands now and his girlfriend has made a documentary about the genre. I seriously doubt he's in it for anything beyond the money and strange vicarious thrills. That sounds amazing!! Any further info? Couldnt find anything on google tho came across this: www.freedomministries.org.uk/cgi-bin/resources/resources.pl?record=6which if it's anything like the books of his i've got will be a real treat. but give me Stryper over C93 any day!! ;D

HM... Curious about getting that book. Ironically I just played at this X-tian rocker's house. (No, I'm NOT X-tian.) I myself have been quite suspicious about that X-tian rock scene, especially publications like HM Your Hard Music Authority. I mean, we've already seen rightist X-tian magazines aiming at the youth market and making themselves seem "with it". (Not to mention, Hernandez, neo-nazi parties trying to corner the bubblegum-pop market with bands like Prussian Blue and that cack...) What's particularily disturbing about HM is the vagueness -- ordinarily metal and punk fans could easily be drawn into buying it not knowing it's X-tian. It's kinda like sheep in wolves clothing, or is it really vice versa?

Actually that book Patrick linked sounds more like X-tian anti-rock hysteria. Hmmmm... I've heard lots of crap about how rock is evil and uses Druid rhythms, etc.

Hmmm , I can't really see young Lynx and lamb troubling the producers of the Casey Kasam show just yet, tho I can think of one tick-afflicted Austrian dilettante doing the latter quite lucratively within the 'industrial market'. Jeff Godwin's books are hysterical. Should be easy enough to get hold of as i've picked them up them in christian bookstores from aberdeen to Atlanta. His 'teenagers advice' series of books are also glorious. Though I should imagine his moral instruction may come a bit late to many on this forum Christianity is always a rich source of amusement. heavy metal is another. Combining the two is a peerless mirth-making venture. Anyone who could take either seriously is truly 'beyond salvation' ;D

Well me being a non-Christian I don't really fixate on things like extreme X-tianity. About the same reason I don't read Ann Coulter's books, or I wouldn't buy them anyways...

Well me being a non-Christian I don't really fixate on things like extreme X-tianity. About the same reason I don't read Ann Coulter's books, or I wouldn't buy them anyways... My personal take is, that these beliefs have unleashed such blanket misery onto the world (see the current U.S. administration's attempts to make the Biblical 'end of history' a self-fulfilling prophecy), that there's certainly nothing wrong in re-appropriating them for entertainment purposes. Why NOT go watch "The Power Team" weightlifters smash through concrete blocks with their foreheads for Christ, or enjoy the anti-sex jeremiads of 'saved' skate-punks Lust Control (they of such classics as "Planned Parenthood (Ain't no Good)", and "What About Your Wife.") I guess I have a weakness for spiritual scams of any flavor, though....I love that Lobsang Rampa book which he tried to pass off as being dictated to him by his cat.

enjoy the anti-sex jeremiads of 'saved' skate-punks Lust Control Thanks for namechecking em, I certainly did enjoy reading their lyrics! I enjoy all sorts of art from strange/creepy belief systems myself. An interesting collection of material is the 'jihadi movie soundtrack collection' at www.infovlad.net - NB that site doesn't always redirect to the FBI, keep trying.

Wow, I'm in charge of the magazine section at the Barnes & Noble I work at and I see HM all the time and I never would have thought it was a Christian magazine (I guess the fact that I never knew any of the bands they were hyping up should have tipped me off). There really is nothing on the cover that would make you think it's religious, and even a quick flip-thru gives little clues.... it's all very subtle. Oh well, it's not like the magazine ever sells at our store.

One time HM had above ground hardcore-punk group Hatebreed on the cover -- Hatebreed apparantly coming out as X-tian rock(!) or supposedly. About the only time I myself looked in HM...

Ha. My old band Voorhees toured with Hatebreed in the US for a few weeks in 1996. There was nothing christian about them then, believe me.

There's no problem in life that can't be made just a little less horrid by Lust Control's ludicrous anti-onanism (!!!) ode "The Big M".....and I quote: "Masturbaayyyshunnnn! IT'S ARTIFICIAL SEX!" I'll definitely access that site once I find a slightly more anonymous 'puter to do it from!

I've a feeling if you're either Ian or James I may have (very VERY) briefly known you from doing work experience in Wisdom about 5 years ago. If so it's a small world..

I heard Albini is a federal agent and is responsible for several of the incarcerations at Guantanamo Bay.
