Not a suggestion as such ...
Just wondering if the mysterious 'Sweet Tooth' track listed in pt3 of the studio recordings dossier will ever get released. If not, why? Was it never finished or something? Or did it just turn out shit?
It just seems odd that it wasn't included on the 'TYLS' special edition when everything else recording in the sessions was.
Is that the only unreleased Whitehouse studio track?

No plans to release it in any form; yes, it was never considered a good enough track to release (even though suffice to say it's better than S&Q's 'version' ;-)). There aren't any other unreleased tracks that were actually completed, hence the inclusion of this one in the dossier.

Fair enough. It must be pretty bad considering then ...
Release it as another Jap Fanatics 3" CD!

Although it's a bit rough around the edges, the one thing that always stood out for me re: Sweet Tooth is the odd marriage of the old Whitehouse form, particularly in terms of vocal delivery and efx, with the late 80s/early 90s Whitehouse. Great White Death, though a bit more logical a transition when listening to old Live Actions, seems to come completely out of thin air. Sweet Tooth, even though it came nearly three years after GWD, serves as the missing link for me between the Erector/Kurten/RTK era and what would follow.

on that subject, all the 1000's of copyists keep trying for that classic early 80's WH sound, but interesting IMHO nobody's even TRIED to imitate WH post-GWD til present day, let alone successfully Really interesting point - I was wondering the other day whether anyone else is going to take up the 'clash of texts' style of the past five or six records (see the 'Sources' thread here if you're wondering what I mean), and take it there own way, or indeed if anyone had tried that in a similar way. It sure is harder than picking a serial killer and basing a record around him... (not that there's anything wrong with that )

"THIS TIME...my cock won't fail" - I can picture the makers of the record - whoever they may be - collapsing in giggles at that line.

"THIS TIME...my cock won't fail" - I can picture the makers of the record - whoever they may be - collapsing in giggles at that line. mea culpa having only heard this thing once or twice - and gullibly believing the friend who said to me "dude, this is unreleased whitehouse!" - I probably should have known better btw. isn't there an almost identical line about cock failure in TYLS?

"Your number's up, honey, and so is my cock."
Something like that? Correct me if I'm wrong!
