Just a few quick thoughts after the first listen:
An incredible sounding album. The African instrumentation and tribal rhythms are very up front. The opening instrumental sets the tone for the whole lp. 'The Avalanche' is a subtle piece. 'Bia Mintatu' is atmospheric and tribal. You can tell this is a Whitehouse lp though it sounds very little like earlier releases. The packaging and postcards are all very impressive.
Right, I'm off to listen to it again....

Need to listen to it a few more times to let it sink in properly. Dyad really stood out for me first listen, wonder who inspired it.

Dyad really stood out for me first listen, wonder who inspired it. Yeah, it's almost catchy with the 'What about me? What about my? What about this? What about that?''etc. Will be great live.

Just listening to it now and loving it so far. As ever the twists of language are great and have me laughing out loud at times ("What about the squirrel process?"). Glad it's progressed musically a lot further than the last couple of albums, too. Only criticism is that some of the tracks could be longer. Cant wait till the next time i catch them live and hear this material LOUD.

Just finished listening to it - some thoughts:
- The instrumentals "The Avalanche" and "Bia Mintatu" are absolutely fantastic - "Dyad" is a great number - pulsing, insistent rhythms matching the vocals well. - Good to hear PB's lyrics in a WH context once again - "Dumping More Fucking Rubbish" is a good reworking of the original - more minimal, in a way. Like WB's re-recorded vocals on this too. - Top marks for the packaging, and especially like Melissa's photos. The cover artwork looks amazing. I'd love to see this artwork in the flesh, so to speak.
All in all, an excellent release, and one I'm really looking forward to coming back to.

I've listened a few times. It sounds like a ritual offering to a mad digital god. Malfunctioning loops of tribal drumming orchestrated by the messiah of an imaginary religion playing infinitely in a virtual desert. This is the delirious culmination of a sacrificial ceremony, its participants ecsatically embracing its violent escalation. Some heavy mindfuck. I can only stand so much of this before I feel like i'm going to have a panic attack or something. I fear for the mental stability of Bennett and Best, sometimes.

I really enjoyed it so far, great progression and some excellent lyrics/vocals on Mouthy Battery Beast and Dyad in paticular. The use of percussion adds a certain intensity to the material.
One more song would have been welcomed, but the shortness of this release may grow on me.

Interesting that so far the brevity of Racket appears to be the only minor complaint here and elsewhere - I too have voiced my wishes for longer albums from WH - but then it struck me on A2006 that the brevity is it's charm. 30min seems about right for a blast of depraved mindfuck. If we wished it was longer, maybe that is a compliment? Fuck I can't wait for this. (And Mummy And Daddy.)

Received today, though I wasn't expecting it. A nice surprise, to say the least. It's absolutely killer, blowing Asceticists out of the water. Really loved the way the vocals were processed and disorted, plus the new atmospheric content of some of the tracks. Fresh, brutal and thoroughly exciting.

How is the percussion, exactly? Not a pattern / steady beat, I imagine. All spastic like? Like A2006?

Upon first listen, from what I remember from this morning anyhow, is that the percussion is quite like A2006. I need to listen to this again.

Yeah the percussion is similar to A2006, but more prominent in the mix. Which is a good thing!
