I recently purchased a couple of CD's off RR records entitled "We started it, let's take it over" Vols 1-3 and "Teenage Nuremberg" - I assume these are legitimate. Anyone know any info about them?

"We created it, let's take it over" 1-3 is actually early material by Ramleh - to my knowledge Philip Best wasn't involved in Ramleh in 82-83, although he was later on and helped with the remastering of the set. Interestingly the title was a Patti Smith reference, as was 'Broken Flag'.
"Teenage Nuremburg" is a selection of 82-83 Philip Best solo tracks, he's joined by John Murphy for tk.1. There was a 3LP box set of similar material also on RRR released about 12 years ago - very rare now.
The 'legitimacy' of these issues is possibly in dispute, as RRRon has a habit of keeping sold-out items in print as CD-Rs...I doubt that artists receive royalties of any sort. Then again they'd probably die of shock if they did. Ain't the music business fun.
While we're discussing Consumer Electronics: at the spam-infested & sparsely-populated philipbest yahoo group, lyrics for 'Grozny' were posted some time ago...

I recently heard the live tape of CE recorded whilst Philip Best was at school ( public attack 3). I can only wonder what the school's reaction was like as it's a wall of noise. I bet the teachers reaction to Philip afterwards wasn't too positive ?

There's also the collaboration beyween Mundy & Best called Male Rape Group which is certainly worth a listen.
Although those RRR releases are, I think, essentially bootlegs, they're still worth getting hold off for a cheap price. There's some good stuff to be found on them, especially the Ramleh series.
