William Bennett has 2011 reflection piece included in the current January 2012 (2011 Rewind issue) Wire magazine - also extended mentions by David Keenan, and Florian Hecker in their respective pieces

yes, and that notwithstanding, I found it a distinctly odd and out-of-touch top 50 in many different ways WB. ...and yet no Cut Hands in their top 50 for the year.

yes, what a shame... ....hopefully Cut Hands is n°4 in the Outer Limits A-Z genre charts, compiled by Nick Cain, Jim Haynes and Nick Richardson... ...and yet no Cut Hands in their top 50 for the year.

I've only ever bought The Wire very occasionally since the mid-90s. Usually just have a peek in the newsagents if a band I'm involved with is featured. More often than not lately the A-Band which, great social experiment filled with very interesting people though it may be, is pretty much the most *useless and worthless* music I've ever helped to make and I think most past and present participants would actually agree. I guess the band is featured as it fits in with how Dave Keenan and those under his influence wish to rewrite history?
Not seen this Top 50 but my bet is the Duran Duran influenced album by Prurient with lyrics by his mum features highly. Haven't heard it myself but fair play to Dominick for annoying all the noise bores so much.
