going to do something in cool special packaging. not sure what the music itself should be on.
CASSETTE (i think they're cool but don't really want to spend time duping each one) MINI-CDR (slightly less cool, and easier to dupe, but how many ppl have players that can handle them?) CDR (easiest to deal with but largest and also most boring)
your own personal reactions to each? or if you own a store/distro/sell your own maybe relate how buyers react to each?
thanks.

CASSETTE (i think they're cool but don't really want to spend time duping each one)Lazy! I rarely ever listen to cassettes, though there are many 'tape heads' around if its Noise / HNW MINI-CDR (slightly less cool, and easier to dupe, but how many ppl have players that can handle them?)I don't trust them in my stereo, though I'm sure it supports them, had a bad experience with them before. I'd only use them for ripping to the computer/laptop but even then I'm cautious haha CDR (easiest to deal with but largest and also most boring)Boring but most compatible! So the answer is... Vinyl!!! (but most expensive lol) Guess it depends on what audience you want and how much time and money you believe your project is worth

Really not cool unless you happen to live in east London.

Frankly a pain in the arse.

As already said, the most compatible and I think possibly the best option here. Vinyl is too pricey if you are small and doing it yourself. Personally when I do small releases rather than the bigger ones for other labels I tend to do CDr and Bandcamp so people can either buy the CDr with some nice artwork or if they prefer to download they have that option.

As a customer I buy vinyl and CD and am happy to have either. Wether I buy it on vinyl or CD depends on how I intend to use the music. I usually buy vinyl if I will mix with it or play around with it and CD if I just want to listen to it. There are exceptions to that rule of thumb though. As a musician selling my stuff, most people don't seem to give a shit how they have it unless they are a collector it seems, and quite frankly there is no second guessing what people will want.
