30th August PB's blog, a new album on the horizon? Is the 'Heartbreak' LP still happening? or is this it, with a title change? (Wether posted here or the questions area is debatable)

Could it possibly beat Crowd Pleaser?

Lots of UK true crime quickies seem to have 'Book Design: Estuary English' on their back covers, just read a grim one about Levi Bellfield yesterday, maybe that is the inspiration for the title.

And if you view the flickr set of the show at full size, you can read in the scrapbooks what appear to be some of the new lyrics - pretty oblique and obscure and much simpler language than Crowd Pleaser - spotted a Shannon Matthews reference ('IPU')

Heard some outrageous stories about the CE/SJ/Sotos show in Paris last night: apparently some teenager slashed his wrists with a box cutter, left a trail of blood after staggering out of the venue, the cops found the trail of blood and raided the gig.
The stuff of power electronics legend, or should that be cliche.

I hope the lad survived and is OK, and kinda wish I'd been at this amazing-sounding gig even though people who were also sound a bit scarred by it all. But fuck it, I remember Whitehouse at the Royal Park in Leeds 2001. Sotos's blood all over my nice new shirt (took ages to get out). Standing with my missus and a star of the EMFW album throwing and smashing empty pint glasses behind Philip Best's head as he stood there doing the solo synth spot laughing out loud after most of the crowd had fled in terror. No wonder WH had to change after that, where do you go from there? Still very possibly the best gig I've ever seen.

I'm in agreement, bloody teenagers!
Those early WH shows sound awesome, always have. I saw their final show only, but it doesn't hold a candle to those 80's gigs.....
Also, any links to any reviews of that Paris gig?

There's lots of discussion on failbook and someone kindly uploaded a gross closeup of the lad's wound. Probably private threads, I don't use it myself but someone showed it me. Befriend Andy Bolus to see.
I didn't see WH in the 80s myself sadly but saw a few very lively shows with Sotos involved, it was very different in mood and tone after he left, the performances were probably odder and more innovative but the audience behaviour was much more conventional. No doubt if and when Whitehouse returns it will be diferent again.

A good friend of mine (WH fanatic too) who live in Paris was at the Sotos/CE/SJ gig on 23 february at the Klub. He did not see neither a wounded teenager nor the police that evening and the police did not stopped the gig or raided the venue... It begin with a film by Sotos, then CE and SJ. Both sets were quite long (more than one hour each band). SJ set has finished with the two leaving the stage but with the noise still going on for 10-15 minutes... The small venue was packed with the audience, a moving crowd, some "pogo" but no blood and nobody seems to get hurt inside the venue. The show ended up at 01h30 AM with the security asking politely the people here to get out...

The co-promoter Marie Elleestspe was one of those discussing it all on the facebook thing I saw (which I can't access right now). I guess the police visited but didn't stop anything, and some of the crowd was unaware of this drama going on. Bolus said he was stood right next to the kid as he did it, just before SJ came on.
