I've wondered about something. I haven't heard every original Come Org. Whitehouse LP and compared it to every Susan Lawly CD reissue, but...if I'm not mistaken, some of the original LPs had very long silences between the tracks. New Britain is a good example. I think it does add a certain tension to those records; a friend said he thought those were the most obnoxious silences ever! I thought that was funny.
So my question is, why were the long silences removed from the CD reissues? Or perhaps equally the question is why they are on the original LPs? Thanks.

it's a fair question, and one which I thought about at length when doing the reissues
ultimately felt that CD silence doesn't carry the same impact as vinyl because there isn't that sense of presence, of something 'happening' - even if that's just the record spinning under the needle, hope that makes sense
