Which are your favourite novels/authors, William?
I've seen mention of Dostoevsky, Hardy and of course De Sade on your blog and in interviews, so I was wondering which ones you hold dearly.
I'm always on the lookout for more books to read and seeing as one of your top 10 film lists (from your blog) closely mirrored my own, I thought I'd ask you about literature.
I'm a big Dostoevsky fan, but I've never give Hardy a go. I notice his books in charity shops and always overlook them. Where to start?

favourites would be too long a list - everything from Sophocles right through the ages to Mishima (I have quite classical tastes)
but fiction is so much a question of personal taste, I hesitate to make recommendations beyond the usual suspects - nowadays, the goal is to catch up on works overlooked (as with Hardy and others)
WB.
