Hi William.. Recently been playing my new Whitehouse reissues...great to have them on vinyl.. However 2 Concerns. Firstly...The mastering is really quiet...I have to crank up the volume way higher than most lps, as the reissues are just too low to give the dynamics the power they need...I'm currently playing Thank Your Lucky Stars vinyl at 38 on my amp, and its a lot louder than all the reissues that I won't push past 45 on the amp. At that volume they still don't sound as loud as TYLS at 38...... I fondly remember you coming to my flat in London with a test pressing ov Thank Your Lucky Stars so you could test it on a good system.......and the system I have now is way louder and better...... 2nd Point...The Black insert sleeves look and feel great, however that ain't so good for the discs.....the inner edges are giving the discs paper cut scratches......adding unwanted noise to a Great Noise..... The Reissues look and feel Great....But sadly The vinyl lacks the power/volume that would make these releases Ultra Great.
Be good to hear you say "I'm Coming Round Your House"......But New Zealand's to far from Scotland for a cup ov tea and playing some Whitehouse records......

I actually have both TYLS and Cruise on LP, so I'll be able to give a second opinion on this, but not until next payday (21st) when I'm planning on buying a USB preamp for ripping my vinyl.
Should be able to see the waveforms along side each other and see how they compare.
Edit: That's not to say that I doubt you are telling the truth, I'm just curious myself.
