Yeah, because it was a CDr, i.e. unofficial, i.e. bootleg. We're talking about an official release. It's still NEVER going to happen. Thank you for that stamp of authority, sir.

It'll never happen. Remember the whole "fiasco" when someone released a CDr of that? I don't think William was too pleased. One reason why it won't be reissued is simply because IT'S SHITE! It was a spoken word sub-label of Escimo in Sweden that released a CDR of it. Other releases were of Jim Jones (what, again?!), David Koresh, etc.

I've been thinking about getting the 2cd Anthology 1. Reviews / more info / track durations please? Early stuff from the first Come album (WB's pre-Whitehouse project), more rock-oriented with crunchy punk-metal guitars sounding like early Siouxsie and the Banshees (except without Siouxsie of course.) The EDP Wasp is there but mostly a Moog-like bass preset is used throughout, and some sparse drumming... All four tracks on The Second Coming compilation -- well it's mostly WB projects except for Nurse With Wound. Come, only track released from aborted second album which is just OK but has almost jazzy drumming that sounds surreal somehow. Whitehouse's "Shitfun" which you've heard before, and a Whitehouse track under the assumed name the Sodality which WASN'T Andreas Cernatto's band of the same name. (They came much later...) That track is called "Coprophilia" and sounds like the "Movement" tracks... The two tracks from 150 Murderous Passions that was a collab with Steve Stapelton, the first side was recorded on location out in the open I think... And then of course the Bradford Red Light sessions, which I think had Stapelton involved on the second track... The second archive collection is worth having too, especially for Come's I'm Jack sessions which features Jim Foetus if you're a Foetus fan(!) -- that's another guitar-oriented thing but less musical. Some rare tracks by Maurizio Bianchi and some tracks from the Fur Isle Koch compilation including a rather disturbing but otherwise kinda minimal track by Etat Brut with lots of children screaming in terror over something or other... Apparently doesn't include Come's reworking of "Come Sunday" which had some interesting production. Also I kinda wished they could've included the rare and rarely-heard Rectifier 7" -- I never heard it and was always curious about it...

the come org anthology cds 1 + 2 are absolutely essential, i would say. the highlights being the 150 murderous passions, part two of bradford red light district, the NWW tracks on both ("fashioned to a device" is really intense and unsettling, and "registered nurse" is hilarious) and the MB material, which predates the currently popular dark drone stuff like Sunn0))) by twenty years.

Is there really much of a noticeable difference between the 150 Murderous Passions tracks on the United Dairies/WSD edition and the versions on the Anthology comp?

I had the People Who Can't version on LP which I sold later. Side 1 was about the same but Side 2 was completely ruined with effects so that you couldn't tell what was going on.

Is there really much of a noticeable difference between the 150 Murderous Passions tracks on the United Dairies/WSD edition and the versions on the Anthology comp? yes, there is. the bennett controlled track (the shorter one) on the UD version is, with the exception of a brief "coda" of sorts added to the end, largely unchanged. however, the version on the come org anthology of this track is of much cleaner and sharper sound quality, and as such far preferable. the versions of the stapleton controlled track on both releases are extremely different, particularly in tone and "feel". the original version, on the come org anthology, is much longer, and sounds somewhat like the material on NWW's "homotopy to marie", though with slightly less dynamic range and a significantly more claustraphobic feel. the version of the track on the UD version is much more spacious and blurred sounding (due to the editing and very prominent use of reverb). i must admit to enjoying both versions of this track.

Does anyone know the reason why the Come - Rampton Lp track 'The Prats' was not released on the Anthology 1?

Not sure, but I can hazard a guess....
Come Sunday was the 2nd track after The Prats on Rampton, but WB wanted to start off the Anthology with Come Sunday as it was the first thing released. As the 7" & LP coincided and to keep the flow of the LP going, The Prats was left out. Does that make sense?
Only conjecture, mind you and I'm probably well off the mark!
As an aside, it seems the tape version of Rampton has a different (& longer) version of The Prats prequelling the proper LP version. I don't have my LP to hand, so anyone here have both to confirm?
