William, would you care to discuss the future of Whitehouse (if there is one?) with your loyal fans, please?

skuj, thanks for asking - to be frank, there's no future to really discuss, other than the completing of the vinyl reissues (which is an important task)...
WB.

Wow. That's frank. Thank you for your reply, William.
28 years is a hell of a run, and you can look back on this great chapter with immense pride, I hope. I am so glad that I discovered your art. So, I guess this is a big thank you for all that, and all the best in the next great chapter.

Same from me too! Can we expect an mammoth set list for these upcoming shows, drawing from all the albums?

Fuck! This just sounds like a "bad ending", but I'm not requesting any details, because really , that's irrelevant. I just happen to remember all the talk of amazing and exciting new possibilities for WH over the last couple of years. But now, I accept that all of those possibilities will, for one reason or another, manifest themselves under the banner of something other than the almighty Whitehouse.
William, I just hope that there is some kind of closure, - a retrospective of some kind, that you are an active particpant in. Whitehouse deserves a good "look back". A short thesis perhaps.

Or, just make those wonderful records available again?

I think the vinyl reissue series is a fitting end. We're only just on the third installment so I think it's fair to reclassify it as signifying the end, even if it the series didn't begin that way.

Oh Christ, so that's what I wrote last night after 750ml of Gato Negro, then? Sorry. But anyway, that's how I feel. I suppose the vinyl re-issues is exactly that....a look back, an important project.

i cant help but feel that the "act final" of whitehouse is being seen in an unnecessarilly negative way... in a greater sense, the general celebratory tone of whitehouse's action is often mistaken as something negative where it is not so... way i see it, looks like bennett will be working away on instrumental pieces based around african percussion and best will be working on vocal electronic tracks. so this means two projects doing music i like, instead of just one. look at racket, asceticists and nobody's ugly as precursors and steps on a new path rather than as full stops...

Almost exactly what I was going to say but you beat me to it Margaras, I was talking to Mr Drill on the way back to our hotel last night saying that we've felt a drastic change was coming for some time now especially after the release of Racket and William's announcement of the Afro Noise project. It's the end of an era and rather sad to think that they won't perform as a duo again now but they're certainly going out on a high note

Yeah, it's all good. Maybe they've called it a day because "one of the problems with performing musicians is that they almost inevitably turn into fucking minstrels." I love your blog, WB. I love Racket, but when I listen to it, I sense 2 distinct types of tracks going on....it comes across to me as the most "ununified" album in the canon. Please don't see that as a slag, because as I say, it's a fantastic album. Oh fuck I might get my arse kicked now, hahaha....

Racket seems different now, listening to it as the final Whitehouse album, especially the last two tracks.

I sure hope there's going to be more... honestly the new stuff is so much better than the old. It's a lot more powerful and the lyrics are more intelligent.
